Why I Founded Alpha Dad Army
I know firsthand the pain of growing up without a father. My parents bitterly divorced when I was three years old, my dad was gone, I was confused and left to wrestle with insecurity, rejection, anxiety, and self-doubt as a toddler.
As I grew up, that emptiness eventually led me down a destructive path—seeking escape, I numbed my inner turmoil with drugs, alcohol, gluttony, and lust—until I reached a breaking point and hit rock bottom.
Desperate for a purpose, direction and an escape, I made a life-altering decision: To enlist in the U.S. Army as a Military Policeman (MP). For the first time, I experienced structure, discipline, camaraderie and strong male role models who challenged me to achieve things I never thought possible, my confidence soared!
Then, while stationed in Panama, Central America, one night while on patrol, my MP patrol partner, shared the Gospel of Jesus Christ with me. Everything changed; I was born again—in mind, spirit, and heart—I became a Soldier for Christ!
The emptiness and longing for an earthly father was finally fulfilled by my Heavenly Father!

Becoming a Father—Facing My Greatest Fear
After my military service, I married a beautiful Christian woman, and soon after, we learned that we were expecting our first daughter; joy quickly turned to fear, worry & anxiety.
I had never seen my dad in action, so I had no idea how to be a father; I was still figuring out how to be a husband, and now I had the weight of fatherhood on my shoulders.
What if I wasn’t enough?
What if I repeated my father’s mistakes?
I had a choice to make:
• Stay stuck in fear and risk being absent—physically or emotionally.
• Step up and become the leader, provider, and protector God was calling me to be.
By God’s grace, I chose to step up!
So, I began to devour books on fatherhood, seek wisdom from godly dads, and pray daily for guidance. My wife and I aligned on roles, parenting strategies, and family values, to ensure we build our home on a foundation of faith and love.
Now, 17 years later, with three amazing kids, and I’ve gained hard-earned wisdom through real-life, on-the-job training—I’ve seen firsthand how strong, faith-filled dads can transform their families!
